Las Vegas Hosts 20th Firework Show For Celebrating 2020

New Year is the time when everyone celebrates and has the time of their lives. This is also the period when casinos try to celebrate the upcoming year and sum up the previous years as well.

One of the casino giants and the industry leaders, Las Vegas is the one that decides to make the 2020 year the most specific start of the new decade. Together with the New Year’s celebration something that everyone likes about the holiday is the huge firework and several minutes of the colorful and most dynamic sky. This is exactly why the Las Vegas city of casinos, decided to mark an annual New Year’s Eve celebration that has grown in size and scale since starting two decades ago to draw revelers to the Las Vegas Strip.

The Big 20

“America’s Party” organizers and tourism officials expect 330,000 visitors, and police said they’re prepared for 400,000 during the 2020 event that officials have dubbed “The Big 20.”

The largest crowd will be on Las Vegas Boulevard, which will be closed Tuesday night ahead of a choreographed eight-minute aerial pyrotechnic display at midnight fired from a top seven casino resorts.

Thousands of more people are expected at the downtown Fremont Street Experience for the debut of a $32 million upgrade to a canopy light and sound show high above a five-block carnival-like pedestrian midway bracketed by casinos and stages and featuring live bands and DJs.

Three hours after the 9 p.m. when the ball drops attract all eyes to New York’s Times Square, three-term Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and her husband, former three-term Mayor Oscar Goodman are scheduled to lead the downtown countdown to midnight Pacific time.

The Firework show seems to be the history for Oscar Goodman. It was back in 1999 when he decided to host a New Year’s firework spectacle. This year seems to be very much definitive and very much special with the firework show.

As it has been said by the developers, Viva Vision canopy that will be over Fremont Street will be seven times brighter than it has been before. It will also have four times better resolution. It’s designed to operate both in the daytime and well as in the darkness.

“Woah! It’s very visual, it assaults every sense,” Spacek said a retiree and watercolor and pencil artists from Toronto, Ontario, Canda Hana Spacek, who happened to catch a recent preview of the show while visiting Las Vegas with her partner, Colin Easthope.

Electrical discharges, mists, tumbling geometric shapes and star cruisers hustled overhead while a strong flood of sound washed over the group.

More Is Coming

There is something more interesting waiting for the casino visitors in the casinos on the New Year’s Eve. Some of the casino giants are planning to host very famous and beloved artists to the venues. The artists include Lady Gaga, Journey,  Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5 and Thirds Eye Blind among many other performers of the show.

Celebrity restaurants plan New Year’s Eve menus, and various nightclubs will feature DJ names including Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers, Tyga, NAS, Lil John, and T-Pain.

Las Vegas police say plainclothes and uniformed officers, federal agents and resort security will be in and around casino-hotels and on rooftops. Glass bottles, coolers, and backpacks won’t be allowed on the Strip after street closures begin in the evening.

It has also been announced that the authorities had encountered no “specific, credible threat” to Las Vegas or southern Nevada. The report has been made by Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill.

New Year’s Eve is worth hundreds of millions of dollars to the local economy, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
